The United States has achieved its highest economic performance during the last ten years by fostering and promoting entrepreneurialactivity (Kuratko & Hodgetts,2004;Entrepreneurship, p.50)
The success has at least three entrepreneurial components.
1.Big Businesses have adapted, downsized, restructured and reinvented,and become more entrepreneurial.
This objective was accomplished in many cases by focusing on "Core competencies" and by contracting out non-core functions formerly done in-company to SMEs.
2.While these Big Business have been transforming themeslves, new entrepreneurialenterprises have been blossoming.
3.Thousands of SMEs have been founded from every sector of the economy and all part of the country.
Every SMEs make a formidable contribution to the economy, as many SMEshave hired 1 or 2 staffs to create many jobs in the past ten years.
